Community welfare initiatives held in Kaohsiung and Foshan

In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the Miaoshan Temple and Miaoshan Guanyin Charity Association held their 15th annual Miaoshan Guanyin Care Community Culture Season. The event involved approximately 250 staff and volunteers from 38 public and private organizations, serving nearly 1,000 residents in the Qishan District. Services included the distribution of daily necessities, health screenings, vaccinations, and public safety education such as CPR demonstrations.

To honor long-term contributors, the organizers presented custom artwork to 11 senior volunteers who have served for over a decade. The cultural program featured musical performances by local artists Gao Ruiping and Chen Xueping, who performed pro bono to support the community initiative.

In Foshan, China, the Foshan Welfare Lottery Issuance Center and the Foshan Social Welfare Institute conducted a series of volunteer activities titled “Warm Consolation to Welcome Double Ninth Festival.” Volunteers engaged with elderly residents through interactive activities, including traditional crafts like woodblock printing and group singing, to promote social welfare and support for the elderly.
