Community welfare programs launch in Verona and Giugliano
Community initiatives in Italy are providing social and professional support through various regional programs. In Verona, the ‘Estate al Centro’ initiative utilized 14 community centers to offer summer activities aimed at reducing social isolation, particularly among the elderly. Programs included ‘GinnasticaMente’ for cognitive stimulation and ‘Pillole Digitali’ to teach digital literacy, such as smartphone and internet usage.
In Giugliano, the ‘Un Ponte per Crescere’ project, funded by Campania Welfare, has entered its operational phase. The program provides home-based educational support for 165 minors and offers free vocational training for adults in fields such as nursery operations, cleaning, and socio-assistance. Additionally, the project includes 63 paid internships for individuals with disabilities or social vulnerabilities to promote professional independence.
