Community wellness events promote physical activity in Ecuador and Venezuela

Community health and wellness events were held in Loja, Ecuador, and Aragua, Venezuela, to promote physical activity and disease prevention.

In Loja, the Festival del Adulto Mayor took place at Jipiro Park. Organized by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture through the Viceministerio del Deporte, the event served users of the Actívate program. Activities included dance, functional exercises, and competitions designed to encourage active lifestyles among senior citizens.

In Venezuela, the ‘Corazón 2026’ walk was held as part of World Heart Week. More than 300 participants, including health professionals and patients with cardiovascular conditions, walked from various starting points to Carlos Raúl Villanueva Park. The initiative, supported by Corposalud and the Centro Docente Cardiológico Bolivariano Aragua, aimed to raise awareness about heart health through exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction.
