Como 1907 defeats Manchester United 4-1 in Champions League

Italian football club Como 1907 secured a significant 4-1 victory against Manchester United during a 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League group stage match at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium.

Owned by the Hartono family through SENT Entertainment, the club has undergone a rapid ascent from the fourth-tier Serie D to competing in Europe's elite competition. Following a fourth-place finish in Serie A during the 2025-2026 season, Como managed to qualify for the Champions League by surpassing established Italian clubs such as AC Milan, Juventus, and Lazio.

Como President Mirwan Suwarso attributed the club's progress to a strategy combining disciplined financial management, player data analysis, academy development, and strong collaboration between management and coach Cesc Fabregas. Suwarso emphasized that the club focuses on both sporting achievements and long-term business sustainability to build a solid foundation.
