Como 1907 has announced that 34-year-old forward Roberta Picchi has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The club confirmed that Picchi will temporarily step away from football to focus on her medical treatment and recovery.

In a show of support, Como 1907 has extended Picchi's contract until the end of the 2027/28 season to provide her with professional and financial stability during her illness. The club's medical staff will also work alongside her healthcare specialists to assist in her recovery process.

Picchi, who played a key role in the team's recent promotion to Serie A, expressed her gratitude on social media, stating, “I am lucky. It is time to play my match, but I will return even more determined.” Men's team coach Cesc Fàbregas also offered his support, emphasizing the club's sense of unity.
