Como 1907 stadium approved for UEFA Champions League

Como 1907 has confirmed that Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia has been officially approved by UEFA to serve as the club's home venue for the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League season. The approval follows extensive renovations designed to meet strict European competition standards.

Key upgrades included the reconstruction of the east stand, known as 'Curva Como,' replacing its previous tubular frame with a permanent concrete or steel structure. The pitch was also widened by approximately 2.5 meters and the playing surface was completely replaced. Additionally, the club improved media facilities, safety infrastructure, and operational capabilities.

While the renovations ensured the stadium's eligibility for elite competition, the construction work meant the venue was unavailable at the start of the current Serie A season, forcing the club to play its initial matches away from home. The club's upcoming fixture against RB Leipzig marks the first Champions League match to be held at the renovated stadium.
