Como and Genoa Women strengthen midfield with new signings

Italian Serie A Women club Como 1907 announced the signing of Swiss international Riola Xhemaili from PSV Women. The 18‑year‑old midfielder helped PSV win the Dutch championship in 2025/26, scoring 15 goals in 30 matches and has earned 44 caps for Switzerland. Como’s head of women’s football said the club is “really excited” about her energy and ability to both score and create, while Xhemaili expressed her happiness to join the historic first‑season campaign in Serie A Women.

Genoa Women confirmed the acquisition of Veneto midfielder Elena Nichele on a contract running to June 2028. Nichele, born in 2000, brings experience from Serie A and B clubs, including a key role in Como’s promotion to the top flight. The club highlighted her balance, intensity and knowledge of Italian football as vital for strengthening the squad’s midfield.
