Como officials sign protocol to prevent crime against banks and post offices

The Prefect of Como, Corrado Conforto Galli, has signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at preventing crime against banks, post offices, and their customers. The agreement was signed alongside representatives from the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and Poste Italiane S.p.A.

This protocol updates a national framework established in 2020 and expands upon a previous agreement from 2004. The new measures are designed to meet current operational needs, specifically by strengthening passive defense systems for credit institutions, post offices, and ATM/Postamat machines.

The agreement also focuses on combating cybercrime, sophisticated fraud campaigns, and the illicit use of artificial intelligence applications. Participants in the signing included provincial police leaders, the coordinator of OSSIF, and representatives from local banking institutions.
