Como faces Champions League squad limit of 16-17 players, says coach Cesc Fabregas

Italian club Como, which rose from Serie B to a top‑four Serie A finish, qualified for the Champions League but may be forced to register only 16 or 17 players. Coach Cesc Fabregas said UEFA rules require a minimum number of home‑grown players, a quota Como cannot meet because the club lacks a compliant youth academy.

Fabregas introduced three new signings – midfielder Mattia Liberali, defender Luis Milla and defender Kaiki – and said they will help the squad cope with the registration restriction. The team is also preparing for a pre‑season tournament that will feature clubs such as Crystal Palace, RC Lens, Famalicão, Villarreal and Al‑Ula.
