Como prepares for return of Christmas circus in Muggiò

Circus performances are set to return to the Muggiò district of Como for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. The event is scheduled to take place at the ex piazza d’Armi in via Sportivi Comaschi from December 18, 2026, to January 10, 2027.

Following a period of absence due to complex assignment procedures and administrative controversies, there has been a significant surge in interest. While the 2025 holiday season saw only a single proposal, the current public tender has received nine applications.

A technical commission has been appointed to evaluate the candidates and establish a merit-based ranking. The final selection will determine which circus company will occupy the site, reviving a local tradition that previously hosted notable performers such as Moira Orfei.
