Como province roads closed following landslides and rockfalls

Heavy rainfall has caused landslides and road closures in the province of Como, Italy. Two distinct incidents involving rockfalls and road damage have disrupted traffic.

In the municipality of Stazzona, the provincial road between Dongo and Garzeno is closed following a road collapse. Local authorities are awaiting technical assessments from provincial experts to determine when the artery can safely reopen. This follows recent severe weather in the area that caused mudslides and trapped individuals in the mountains.

Additionally, the Larian provincial road (SP583) in Valbrona has been temporarily closed due to rockfalls at kilometer 40+000. Technical staff from the Maintenance Office and provincial workers are currently on-site conducting safety inspections and clearing debris to restore safe transit conditions.
