Comodoro Rivadavia celebrates 30th anniversary of Antonio Morán pier
The Port of Comodoro Rivadavia held celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of the Antonio Morán overseas pier. The event, themed “A port with open doors,” featured community activities including sports, gastronomy, and cycling, aimed at strengthening the bond between the maritime industry and local residents.
A major highlight was the visit of the Argentine Navy destroyer ARA “Almirante Brown,” which arrived following international military exercises in Peru. The vessel allowed the public to tour its facilities and learn about its equipment and history.
During the commemorative ceremony, Mayor Othar Macharashvili called for institutional unity and a collaborative pact between the public and private sectors. Addressing Governor Ignacio Torres, Macharashvili emphasized the need for collective development involving the Armed Forces, the judiciary, universities, and the community, rather than individualistic leadership.
