Neuquén: Woman dies in fatal rollover on Route 237

A 30-year-old woman, Marilyn Valenzuela, died following a vehicle rollover on Route 237 near Villa El Chocón, Neuquén. Valenzuela was driving a Renault Fluence from Chile toward her hometown of Allen, Río Negro.

The accident occurred near kilometer 1302 in the Cañadón Escondido area. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle may have struck the shoulder while navigating consecutive curves, causing it to lose control and flip at least twice. Authorities are also examining a 10 to 15-centimeter drop between the road and the shoulder as a contributing factor.

Valenzuela's family was also in the car, including her parents, aged 58 and 59, and her two-year-old son. While the parents were hospitalized with various injuries, the child remained uninjured, protected by a mandatory child restraint system. All occupants were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
