Comodoro Rivadavia dog rescued from oil spill

In Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, a dog named Nico was rescued after falling into an oil spill in a northern area of the city near kilometers 5 and 8. The incident has highlighted the issue of environmental liabilities left by hydrocarbon activities near urban zones. The rescue involved a coordinated effort between neighbors, firefighters, Civil Defense, and the NGO Comodoro Conciencia Activa.

Nico was found covered in petroleum and suffering from hypothermia. After a complex four-hour cleaning process, specialists removed approximately 70% of the oil from his coat. While his condition remains guarded due to the ingestion of petroleum, he has shown signs of improvement, such as being able to eat.
