Comodoro Rivadavia recovers abandoned land in Km. 17

The Municipality of Comodoro Rivadavia has recovered a plot of land in the Km. 17 neighborhood that had been abandoned for over 15 years. The operation included the demolition of an existing structure after officials confirmed the beneficiary failed to meet construction and habitability obligations.

The land was originally granted in 2009. Following a review in 2021, the municipality provided a second opportunity to begin construction, but the requirements were again not met. The recovery operation was carried out by the Secretariat of Territorial Planning and the Department of Surveying, supported by Public Works machinery and the Chubut Police.

Bruno Hernández, Secretary of Territorial Planning, stated that this action is part of an ongoing effort to reclaim idle public land, including lots being illegally offered for sale on social media platforms. The recovered land will be repurposed to meet municipal objectives related to productive development and housing needs.
