Como's Corridoni school relocation blocked over safety concerns

The Corridoni primary school in Como is facing significant uncertainty regarding its relocation to via Fiume. The Regional School Office has blocked the transfer, citing structural deficiencies and safety concerns at the proposed site. Specifically, inspections revealed issues such as water infiltration, damaged plaster, non-functional sanitary facilities, and a lack of verified emergency exits and technical systems.

Furthermore, the Regional School Office noted that moving classes to the Venini school in via Fiume would negatively impact existing educational activities. The Venini site is already at capacity with 186 students and utilizes its spaces for essential laboratories, libraries, and intercultural rooms. Diverting these spaces to Corridoni would reduce the available didactic resources for both institutions.

This administrative deadlock has caused confusion among families. While the municipality has opened registrations for canteen and after-school services, the conflicting information regarding whether the via Sinigaglia location will remain operational has created a climate of uncertainty just days before the start of the school year.
