Comox Valley photographer launches calendar for men's mental health
Photographer Rhonda Posegate is leading a creative project on Vancouver Island to raise awareness for men’s mental health. The initiative involves a “dude-oir” style calendar titled ‘Snack Pack Daddies,’ featuring approximately 60 local men of various body types.
The project originated from a social media post that gained significant engagement, leading to the idea of a fundraising calendar. Many of the participating models reported having personal struggles with mental health.
The campaign highlights mental health statistics from a 2025 study by the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation. The study reported that 64 per cent of men experience moderate-to-high stress, 23 per cent are at risk of moderate-to-severe depression, and 50 per cent face risks of social isolation. Additionally, 67 per cent of men surveyed stated they have never sought professional mental health support.
