Compact computing: New mini-PCs and leaked Lenovo Chromebook arrive
The mini-PC and notebook market is experiencing a period of conflicting trends, with manufacturers releasing compact, high-performance devices even as component and memory costs rise in several regions.
ACEMAGIC has launched the M5 mini-PC in China, featuring an Intel Core 3 304 processor, 12 GB of LPDDR5-5600 RAM, and dual M.2 slots for PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The device measures 128 x 128 x 37 mm and weighs 437 grams. Pricing starts at approximately 1,999 Yuan (around $297 USD) without an SSD.
Additionally, specifications for a leaked Lenovo device, referred to as the “Googlebook 15,” suggest a premium Chromebook featuring an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor and a 15.3-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
In the budget segment, Soyo has introduced the M4 Power, an ultra-compact mini-PC weighing only 260 grams. It utilizes an AMD Ryzen 3 3250C processor, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 256 GB M.2 SSD. The device is designed for basic office tasks, streaming, and web browsing, offering connectivity via HDMI, DisplayPort, and Wi-Fi 5.
