Compagniekreek women's organization receives podosiri processing machine

The women's organization Belangen Behartigen Compagniekreek (BBC) has received a podosiri processing machine and other equipment to transition from small-scale processing to a professional commercial enterprise. The initiative was facilitated by the Directorate of Agricultural Development for the Interior (DAOB) under the Ministry of Regional Development.

Thirteen members of the BBC use these resources to process indigenous agricultural products, including podosiri, highland rice, and cassava. Previously, the group relied on primitive methods that limited production capacity, reduced profit margins, and hindered product presentation. The new machinery is expected to increase efficiency, improve product quality, and allow the organization to access larger markets.

During the handover on September 16, Belfon Aboikoni demonstrated the machine's operation to the members. This technological upgrade aims to structurally strengthen the economic opportunities within the Compagniekreek community and support local farmers and processors in meeting the growing demand for locally produced food.
