Companhia Teatro Cego debuts sensory play in Porto Seguro

Companhia Teatro Cego is debuting its sensory production, ‘Expresso Dive – Uma Jornada em Família’, in Porto Seguro, Bahia. The performance aims to promote inclusion and accessibility by transforming the theater into a sensory experience where the audience explores the narrative through sounds, aromas, flavors, and tactile sensations rather than sight.

The play simulates a train carriage environment and follows the story of a visually impaired teenager traveling to visit her grandmother. During the journey, she forms connections with a railway worker and a forestry engineer, offering new perspectives on life.

Scheduled to run from August 31 to September 3 at Sesc Porto Seguro Residencial Ecológico, the presentations are specifically aimed at public elementary school students. Following the Porto Seguro season, the production will tour other cities in Bahia, including Ilhéus and Itabuna, through October.
