Companies adopt fragrance strategies for branding and workplace environments
Companies are increasingly utilizing fragrance as a strategic tool to enhance brand identity and improve workplace environments. In Japan, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group has introduced a signature forest-inspired scent, dubbed “MUFG Fragrance,” to be used in its Tokyo head office and potentially its branches to foster unity and comfort. Similarly, NEC has utilized generative artificial intelligence to develop five distinct aromas tailored to employee behavioral guidelines, allowing staff to use aroma oils to support work efficiency.
In the consumer market, Mumbai-based NYNE is expanding its scent diffusion business from commercial spaces into the home market. Having previously provided fragrance services for luxury showrooms, cinemas, and hotels, the company is now offering scent-led ambience for residential interiors to create consistent, mood-based sensory experiences.
