Compartamos Banco celebrates 20 years of Premio Emprendedores

Compartamos Banco is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Premio Emprendedores, an initiative established in 2007 to recognize small business owners in Mexico. Over its two decades, the award has honored 400 winners and supported the journeys of more than 116,000 entrepreneurs.

The program highlights how small-scale enterprises serve as vital tools for family stability and community development. Notable recipients include Julio Molina, a 2024 winner who expanded a family bakery in Acapulco to support his five children's education, and Marily Vega, a 2021 winner who scaled her artisanal workshop from 50 to 4,000 pieces, allowing her to expand her business and build a family home.
