Compassion International Togo promotes disability inclusion in churches

Compassion International Togo held a validation workshop in Lomé to review study results regarding the inclusion of persons with disabilities within its partner network of 59 churches. The study, conducted with support from Christian Blind Mission (CBM), evaluated 23 Child and Youth Development Centers (CDEJ) to assess knowledge and practices among children, parents, and caregivers.

Findings indicate that children enrolled in the Compassion International program demonstrate a better understanding of disabilities compared to those outside the program. While progress was noted among parents and caregivers, experts emphasized that theoretical training must be supplemented by practical field support and infrastructure adaptations to meet the specific needs of people with disabilities.
