Compensation payments issued for infrastructure and agricultural relief in Gabon and DRC
In Gabon, forty-one families in Nkoltang have received a total of 312.7 million FCFA in compensation to facilitate the construction of an access road for the Waste Treatment and Recovery Center (CTVD). The project, managed by Mika Services, is currently 94% complete. The road is a critical component for the center, which aims to address waste management issues in Greater Libreville and allow for the closure of the Mindoubé landfill.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the National Agricultural Development Program (PNDA) has begun paying agricultural insurance indemnities to 434 small-scale farmers in the Kasaï region. These payments compensate for losses caused by drought during the 2025 season. The operation, supervised by a joint team including Equity Bank, aims to support farmers registered in the national registry. Across the province, more than 13,500 smallholders are eligible for such compensation in the Luebo-Kabambayi, Luebo-Wedi, and Mweka territories.
