Competition Councils Review Hartmann‑Dentas Deal in Romania and Honest Company Sale in Moldova

Romania’s Competition Council examined the proposed acquisition of Dentas Romania by Hartmann. To address competition concerns, Hartmann pledged to convert two production lines to export‑only output, keep weighted average prices at 2025 reference levels for two years, avoid long‑term exclusive contracts, notify customers of their freedom to choose suppliers, and cease imports from Dentas Kagit Sanayi in Turkey. The council invited comments on these commitments until 21 August 2026.

In Moldova, the Competition Council is set to scrutinise Moldretail Group’s planned purchase of the Honest Company. The review comes amid a broader fiscal reform that will impose VAT and a fixed fee on parcels ordered from overseas platforms starting in 2027, aiming to level the tax burden between domestic retailers and foreign‑origin shipments.
