Compiègne man dies after violent assault

A man in his forties has died following a violent assault in Compiègne, located in the Oise department. The victim was discovered severely injured at Square Blaise-Pascal on the morning of Saturday, August 15. Despite receiving emergency medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Sunday, August 16.

Investigators believe the assault may have been a reaction to suspicions that the victim had committed sexual misconduct against an 18-year-old woman. Three individuals—a 20-year-old man and two women aged 18 and 33—have been taken into custody.
