Complexo Hospitalar Santa Teresinha launches emergency room education campaign
Complexo Hospitalar Santa Teresinha has launched an educational social media campaign to guide the public on the proper use of Emergency Services. The initiative utilizes videos and informative content to explain the Catarinense Protocol for Reception with Risk Classification (PCACR).
The campaign aims to reduce overcrowding by clarifying that emergency rooms are prioritized for urgent and life-threatening situations, such as intense chest pain, shortness of breath, suspected strokes, seizures, and severe bleeding. Patients with mild symptoms or those needing routine prescription renewals are encouraged to seek assistance at municipal health centers instead. By directing patients to the appropriate level of care, the hospital seeks to ensure that medical teams remain available for high-risk cases where every minute is critical.
