Complexo Hospitalario da Coruña faces parking fee hikes and expansion bids
The Complexo Hospitalario da Coruña (CHUAC) is currently facing two distinct issues regarding its facilities and future expansion.
Users and staff have raised complaints regarding rising parking costs at the hospital. Monthly subscription rates have reportedly increased from approximately 60 euros to 90 euros, following a previous hike from 65 to 80 euros in February. Patients and their families have criticized the pricing as excessive for a public hospital, noting that parking alternatives in the surrounding area are limited.
Simultaneously, the Xunta has received seven bids for a 52-million-euro contract to prepare the grounds for a new hospital building. This phase involves demolition, earthworks, and material valorization. Major construction players are competing for the contract, including a joint bid from San José and Copasa, as well as various alliances involving ACS, Ferrovial, FCC, and Grupo Puentes.
