Composer George Kumendakis Launches Two New International Albums

Greek composer George Kumendakis has released two new collections of his piano works internationally. The album “Mediterranean Desert,” featuring 22 pieces inspired by Mediterranean flora and fauna, is performed by internationally acclaimed pianist Stephanos Thomaopoulos and issued by the Austrian contemporary‑music label KAIROS.

The second release, “Point of No Return,” contains four compositions and is issued worldwide by the independent classical label Da Vinci Classics. It includes performances by the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Osmosis Saxophone Quartet, saxophonist Theofilos Sotiriadis and pianist Vasilis Barbares, with artistic direction by Konstantinos Terzakis. Both projects blend Byzantine tradition, Greek folk elements and modern compositional techniques, highlighting Kumendakis’s distinctive Mediterranean‑inspired musical language.
