Composer Vít Zouhar celebrates 60th birthday with Moravian Philharmonic concert

Composer, musicologist, and educator Vít Zouhar is celebrating his 60th birthday. To mark the jubilee, the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc will perform a concert featuring works from various periods of his career.

The program will include his early composition ‘Brána slunce’, written during his time as a student at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU), as well as his new orchestral work, ‘Agios’.

Zouhar, who has taught at Palacký University since the 1990s, has also dedicated much of his career to research and editorial work focused on the works of Bohuslav Martinů. His musical education spanned institutions in Brno, Graz, and Siena.
