Compromís denounces rejection of educational works unblocking proposal
The political party Compromís has denounced the refusal of the PP and Vox parties to support a resolution aimed at unblocking educational construction projects in Benicarló, Borriol, and Betxí. The proposal sought to withdraw legal appeals before the Supreme Court that are currently stalling works under the 'Pla Edificant' program, despite a ruling from the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) validating the delegations for these works.
Gerard Fullana, the Education spokesperson for Compromís in the Corts Valencianes, stated that the rejection leaves the new Borriol secondary school, the Ramón Cid secondary school in Benicarló, and the Pequelar nursery school in Betxí without parliamentary support to proceed.
Compromís further alleged a negative financial balance of more than 37 million euros in the Castelló region regarding new approved actions versus those withdrawn since June 2023. Fullana criticized the current administration for low execution rates, noting that recent approved investments for several centers total only 2.05 million euros, which he described as 'pírrica' (paltry).
