Comunità Montana Valtellina di Sondrio allocates 80,000 euros for student services

The Executive Board of the Comunità Montana Valtellina di Sondrio has approved an 80,000 euro contribution to support the 'Right to Study' (Diritto allo Studio) for municipalities within its territory for the 2025/2026 school year.

The funds are intended to offset costs incurred by municipalities for essential services, including school transportation and 'ad personam' assistance for students with various difficulties in primary and lower secondary schools. The allocation is proportional to the expenses incurred by each municipality, net of any revenues.

Data shows a significant rise in municipal spending for these services. Total costs for the 2025/2026 school year reached approximately 1.95 million euros, including 1.23 million euros for transport and 722,000 euros for student assistance. This represents a nearly 30% increase compared to 2021, and a rise of over 50% compared to the average costs seen between 2012 and 2016.
