Comurg sets record cleaning output with 24‑hour 12/36 shift system
The Companhia de Urbanização de Goiânia (Comurg) announced a productivity record of 277.4 million square metres of urban cleaning services after introducing 24‑hour operations on a 12‑hour work/36‑hour rest schedule. The new model covers grass cutting, manual street sweeping and waste picking, focusing on high‑traffic avenues, transport corridors and other busy streets to minimise traffic disruption.
Between 2025 and 2026 the crews also cleaned 8.7 million square metres of water‑source areas, removed 190,000 tonnes of bulky waste from streets and trimmed 48.5 million square metres of land. Safety was reinforced by the company’s Specialized Service in Safety and Occupational Medicine, which monitors work, conducts regular training and provides equipment such as traffic cones and reflective uniforms. Technical manager Rafael Pacheco noted that reduced night‑time traffic allows faster, safer execution, while President Cleber Aparecido dos Santos highlighted recent upgrades to personal protective equipment and safety staffing.
