CONADUV demands suspension of Route 6 toll collection in Buenos Aires

The National Committee for the Defense of Road Users (CONADUV) has formally requested the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires to immediately suspend toll collection on Route 6. The 140-kilometer ring road traverses 11 municipalities, connecting La Plata to the Zárate-Campana port complex.

CONADUV argues that the provincial state is “on both sides of the counter,” as it manages the concessionaire Aubasa, approves the rates, and is responsible for oversight. The organization claims that an independent regulatory body, as required by Article 42 of the National Constitution, has not been established. Furthermore, they allege that recent price increases lack sufficient justification based on real costs.

Tolls for passenger vehicles currently range between $1,287 and $1,608 during peak hours. For heavy cargo trucks, which use the route as a primary corridor for goods, costs vary from $5,500 to $11,491 depending on weight, axles, and timing. The route utilizes a multi-lane free-flow system requiring Telepase authorization.
