CONAF evaluates 200 applicants for forest fire brigades in Valparaíso

The National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) is conducting evaluations for new personnel in the Valparaíso Region to prepare for the upcoming high-risk forest fire season. This week, 200 applicants underwent physical and psychological testing across three locations: 100 in Valparaíso, 60 in Limache, and 40 in San Antonio.

The recruitment drive aims to fill various roles, including brigade chiefs, squad leaders, cooks, drivers, base caretakers, logistics assistants, and central dispatchers. Patricio Balladares, regional head of CONAF’s Forest Fire Protection Department, noted that the institution is satisfied with the high level of participation in the selection process.

Basic requirements for applicants include being at least 18 years old, having completed basic education, and possessing no criminal record. The application process remains open and can be completed digitally through the official CONAF website.
