Persistent electricity shortages in Conakry, Guinea, are severely disrupting the livelihoods of local artisans and small business owners. In neighborhoods such as Keitaya, workers in sectors including hairdressing, carpentry, welding, and glasswork are facing significant operational challenges due to irregular power supply.

Many professionals report that electricity often disappears in the morning and does not return until late evening. This forced shift in availability compels workers to operate at night or rely on expensive alternative solutions, such as generators or motors, to meet client demands.
