Conakry forum focuses on responsible AI for government administration

The second edition of the International Forum of Government Secretaries General concluded in Conakry, focusing on the theme of using artificial intelligence to enhance governmental performance. The forum brought together experts and high-level administrative officials to discuss the digital transformation of the state.

Participants formulated four primary recommendations for the responsible and ethical integration of AI within administrations. These include prioritizing digital sovereignty and data governance, training public officials, and accelerating the digitalization of official journals. The discussions emphasized that while AI can improve efficiency—such as by facilitating archival research and administrative speed—it must remain under state control to ensure decision-making and data security are not compromised.

Additionally, the forum highlighted the need to expand the international network of government secretaries general, share expertise, and establish common indicators for measuring governmental performance.
