Guinea victims demand justice 17 years after Conakry stadium massacre
On the 17th anniversary of the September 28, 2009, stadium massacre in Conakry, human rights organizations and victim collectives are calling for the completion of the judicial process and effective reparations.

Recent developments have further complicated the pursuit of justice, including a presidential pardon granted to former junta leader Moussa Dadis Camara in March 2025, the deaths of key defendants Claude Pivi and Aboubacar Diakité in early 2026, and several acquittals or releases due to procedural issues. Victims are also seeking expanded humanitarian assistance and medical support, noting that while the state has mobilized 119 billion Guinean francs for recognized victims, many still await full redress.
