CONALEP Chihuahua proposes new nursing model and receives vehicle donations

CONALEP Chihuahua is proposing a new educational model for its General Nursing students as part of its ‘Vision CONALEP Chihuahua 2030’. The initiative, presented by Director General Omar Bazán Flores, aims to integrate scientific knowledge with traditional medicine and herbalism. The goal is to provide a more comprehensive and culturally sensitive approach to patient care, particularly in indigenous and rural communities, without replacing conventional medical treatments.

To ensure patient safety, the curriculum will include studies in medicinal botany, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and toxicology. This scientific framework is intended to help students identify plant compositions, benefits, and potential contraindications or negative interactions with standard medications.

Separately, the institution has received a donation of two vehicles from the Auditoría Superior del Estado (ASE) to support its operations. The donation, which includes a Suburban SUV and a Malibu sedan, will be assigned to the Delicias campus and the Tierra Nueva extension in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc to assist with academic, administrative, and community outreach activities.
