Students from the CONALEP Tamaulipas Río Bravo campus secured second place globally in the SoccerBot RC (Radio Control) High School category at the RoboRAVE 2026 World Robotics Championship in Osaka, Japan.
The team, consisting of Denilson Espinoza, Martha Infante, Ángel David Montero Castillo, and Ximena Lumbreras, competed under coach Santos Vargas. After winning five of their six qualifying matches, they advanced to the final, where they faced a team from Thailand to claim the runner-up position.
During the competition, the Mexican representatives competed against teams from several nations, including Egypt, Taiwan, Bangladesh, and South Korea. The CONALEP team was the only Mexican delegation in the SoccerBot category and the sole Latin American team participating in this specific challenge.
