CONAMED to use medical specialists as technical advisors

Mexico's Ministry of Health has signed an agreement to incorporate medical specialists from national institutes and federal hospitals as technical advisors for the National Commission for Medical Arbitration (CONAMED). The initiative aims to strengthen the analysis of medical controversies by providing clinical, scientific, and academic expertise to support institutional rulings and arbitration awards.

Under the agreement, specialists will serve in a technical, academic, and consultative capacity. They will assist in reviewing case files and integrating technical criteria, but they will not hold legal authority. CONAMED retains exclusive responsibility for issuing all formal opinions, dictums, and final resolutions. The collaboration is intended to ensure more robustly supported decisions and a more reliable medical arbitration system.
