Conan Movie 29 Leads Vietnam Box Office, Beats Nolan’s The Odyssey

During the weekend of 17‑19 July 2026, Japan’s Conan Movie 29: Thiên thần sa ngã trên xa lộ dominated Vietnam’s box office, pulling in roughly 80.8 billion VND in total revenue. In just two days of early release, the film attracted over 405,000 viewers and generated about 41.9 billion VND, accounting for nearly half of the market’s earnings.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey placed second, earning about 23 billion VND in the same period and ranking second in the Vietnamese box‑office chart. Internationally, The Odyssey posted 264.1 million USD from 73 markets, but its domestic performance was eclipsed by the Conan title. Other summer releases such as Doraemon and Minions also posted strong numbers, but the clear leader for the weekend was Conan Movie 29.

Analysts expect Conan’s strong start could push its total domestic take toward the 200 billion VND mark as exhibitors extend its early‑screening schedule.
