CONATEL and IMF discuss digital investment in Honduras

The National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) met to analyze the impact of connectivity on investment, productivity, and digital transformation in Honduras.

During the meeting, officials emphasized that telecommunications serve as strategic infrastructure to attract investment, facilitate trade, and generate employment. Discussions focused on the necessity of creating regulatory conditions that encourage digital infrastructure investment and expand access to broadband services and new technologies.

IMF Resident Representative Fabiano Rodrigues Bastos noted that a mission will soon visit Honduras to further examine the telecommunications sector's contribution to the national economy, specifically regarding investment, infrastructure, and productivity.
