CONATEM 2026 to focus on theater professionalization and labor rights

The ninth edition of the National Theater Congress (CONATEM) is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 27, 2026. The event aims to focus on the professionalization of the sector and the labor rights of theater workers in Mexico.

This edition marks a structural transformation for CONATEM, as it will be the first to operate completely independently following a governance restructuring. The congress will bring together creators, producers, and state representatives from 31 federal entities to discuss working conditions and establish a national cultural agenda. The program includes workshops, forums, and a specific professionalization axis featuring established industry experts.
