Concepción authorities investigate cattle deaths with unusual mutilations
Authorities in the rural area near Concepción, Argentina, are investigating the deaths of two cows that occurred within a 48-hour period. The carcasses exhibited notable mutilations, prompting concern among local producers and residents.
Specialized personnel, including members of the Rural and Island Environmental Police (PRIAR), provincial park rangers, and representatives from a native fauna conservation foundation, are conducting technical inspections. They are collecting evidence to determine if the injuries were caused by a large wild feline, such as a jaguar, which has been reported in the region near the Iberá Wetlands, or if other causes are responsible.
The community remains divided between the importance of wildlife conservation and the necessity of ensuring the safety of livestock and local families.
