Concepción del Uruguay health centers host addiction awareness programs

Health authorities and support organizations in Concepción del Uruguay are conducting community outreach programs focused on addiction recovery. In collaboration with the Municipal Mental Health Directorate, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is launching a series of awareness sessions throughout November titled “Su pregunta no molesta. El alcoholismo es una enfermedad.” These sessions aim to sensitize the community to alcoholism as a disease and promote the importance of therapeutic groups.

Building on previous efforts, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) also conducted a cycle of talks titled “La recuperación es posible” during October. These meetings, held at various Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), provide information on the twelve-step recovery program and offer a support network for those seeking to maintain a drug-free life. The joint initiatives between the municipality and these organizations are designed to strengthen the local health network and provide tools for prevention and treatment.
