Concepción del Uruguay hosts commemorations for Justo José de Urquiza

The city of Concepción del Uruguay is holding a series of events to honor Justo José de Urquiza, the first constitutional president of Argentina, marking his 225th birth anniversary and other historical milestones.

As part of the tribute week, the Colegio Superior del Uruguay is hosting an exhibition of Urquiza’s gala saber. The display is being held in collaboration with the Argentine Army’s II Armored Brigade, which is providing security for the historical artifact. Additionally, historians Eduardo Lazzari and Orlando Busiello held a lecture at the Colegio del Uruguay to discuss Urquiza’s political and institutional legacy.

The week of celebrations, which includes a planned civic-military parade in Plaza Ramírez, has faced logistical adjustments. Due to weather forecasts predicting a 40% chance of rain and general instability, the municipality has postponed the central parade and ceremony from October 25 to November 1 to ensure the safety of participating schools, institutions, and military forces.
