Concepción del Uruguay launches new urban tree planting phase

The Municipality of Concepción del Uruguay is advancing a new stage of its Municipal Tree Plan, which includes planting 100 new trees and replacing specimens that failed to develop. The current phase focuses on the blocks bounded by Moreno, 9 de Julio, Rivadavia, and Almafuerte.

Urban Forestry Coordinator Florencia Igarzábal stated that species are selected based on sidewalk dimensions and planter sizes to ensure proper growth and urban adaptation. The initiative aims to improve environmental conditions by providing shade, reducing heat island effects, mitigating noise, and improving air quality. Local residents and merchants are being notified to coordinate planting locations and are requested to assist with watering and care.
