Students in Argentina and Chile achieve milestones in energy and civic engagement

In Argentina, students from the Escuela de Educación Técnica N° 1 de Palpalá in Jujuy have developed two electric vehicles to compete in the Desafío ECO YPF 2026 national competition in Buenos Aires. The project, involving electromechanics and informatics students, was developed through interdisciplinary teamwork and received support from the Jujuy government.

Additionally, the Youth Senate program in Entre Ríos has moved to its provincial stage, with 18 projects selected from 150 teams. Among the winners is a project from Concordia titled “Siempre hay tiempo,” which proposes specialized assistance for elderly citizens in service queues to ensure they are not rushed during transactions.

In Chile, students from the Instituto de Humanidades Alfredo Silva in Concepción won first place globally in the Brilliant Blue Global competition. Their project, “Island Energy,” utilizes Point Absorber technology to generate electricity from wave movement to support the energy needs of Isla Santa María.

Furthermore, the Energy Challenge 2026 in the Valparaíso region is preparing to recognize 20 educational establishments for their work in energy efficiency and renewable technologies.
