Concorde bus incinerated by armed group in Santander
An armed group intercepted and incinerated a Concorde transport company bus during the early hours of Saturday, October 17, in the El Almorzadero moor area. The incident occurred on the road connecting Chitagá and Málaga in the Santander region.
According to reports, two armed individuals used short weapons to intimidate the driver and force all passengers to disembark. Once the passengers were safe, the assailants set the vehicle on fire, leaving it completely destroyed. While the bus was reportedly traveling the Bogotá-Cúcuta route, no injuries to passengers or the driver have been confirmed.
Authorities are investigating the incident, with preliminary information suggesting the involvement of the National Liberation Army (ELN). Douglas Arenas, Director of Security and Coexistence for the Santander Government, has called on public forces to act quickly to locate and capture those responsible to prevent further intimidation of local communities.
